The DÜNGEcht operational group brings together expertise from agricultural research, software development, farming practice, and advisory services, an interdisciplinary collaboration that ensures the project’s results are scientifically sound and practically relevant for farmers.
ZALF acts as the scientific lead and coordinating partner of the project, responsible for advancing the process-based cropping systems model and linking it to real-time and farm data sources. The “Cropping Systems Analysis” working group brings extensive expertise in cropping systems modelling, nitrogen dynamics, and climate risk assessment, and also leads project coordination.
FLYnet is an experienced digital agency with 29 years of experience in conceiving, designing, and implementing digital solutions for web and mobile. Together with the other partners, FLYnet develops the user-friendly application and front-end interface, drawing on experience from smart-city and agricultural digitalisation projects such as the OpenNatApp initiative.
Led by Marius Linnemann, Landfarm Hohenstein farms 1,200 ha of arable land in the Märkisch-Oderland district, growing winter barley, rapeseed, winter wheat, and other crops, alongside free-range laying hens. The farm provides practical feedback on the app prototypes and farm data for calibrating and validating the scientific model.
Under the leadership of Felix Thiemeyer, Agrodienste Reichenberg farms around 2,500 ha in the Märkische Schweiz region, focusing on winter rapeseed, winter barley, winter wheat, and grain maize. The farm supports the calibration of the cropping systems model and the testing of the decision-support tool under real-world conditions.
As a certified agricultural advisor and farmer himself, Paul Klemke combines practical farming knowledge with advisory experience. He recruits additional farmers for pilot applications and supports the dissemination of project results through advisory networks.
The University of Bonn contributes its internationally recognised expertise in cropping systems modelling and digital agriculture, in particular the development of the SIMPLACE modelling framework. It is responsible for adapting the cropping systems models to Brandenburg conditions and for the scientific validation of the tool.
